Pelikan M800
It was always easy to check the ink level in high-quality Pelikan piston fountain pens. Either there were ink windows in the body, or the material was translucent or transparent (demonstrator). Exceptions were a few Special Editions.
In 2022, Pelikan has announced a change in production and material, which will eliminate the ink level control. This affects both classic striped materials and solid-color models that previously had ink windows (e.g. M800 black).
The models shown below have a pictogram on the second tab to indicate whether and how the ink level can be read. For more than one pictogram, the property has changed and thus different variants exist.
