Pelikan IBIS

The IBIS is the successor of the Rappen which also covers the lower price segment of fountain pens.
The IBIS fountain pen was the affordable entry level Pelikan. He gets the model number 130.
1936 The IBIS replaces the Rappen in the domestic market.
1937 Introduction of IBIS with palladium nib.
1942 production was discontinued due to the war.
1949 Re-launch of the IBIS 130. For Germany with CN-nib. The new model is made from resin and a little bit longer than the earlier pens. Remaining stocks of ebonite caps are apparently used up, so models with mixed materials can be found.
1949 IBIS for export are equipped with gold nibs.
1950 IBIS 130 with gold nib for the German market available.
In 1954 the production of the model IBIS was officially discontinued. However, it is known that IBIS pens for particular markets (eg Switzerland) were produced until at least 1956.

The post-war model of the IBIS was called model the IBIS 130.
The new model variant is approx. 5mm longer than before. It complements the range of offers downwards, i.e. as an inexpensive model.
Pens were also made for special applications, e.g. for carbon copy for VELOX (engraving VELOX on the cap band) and Taylorix with an engraving on the barrel. The model IBIS 130 E was produced for Elektrographik (mark sensing). This pen was designed for special high graphite-content ink. Markings made with this ink are machine-readable.

The Taylorix company was founded in 1922 in Stuttgart (Germany) as a distributor foraccounting needs. The Taylorix accounting system was originally developed for hand-write-carbon-copy accounts. Special carbon copy nibs for fountain pens were therefore necessary.Taylorix sold pens from different manufacturers under their own name. The term on the shaft, e.g. 6-G DF can decrypt as follows:

Carbon copy fountain pen for the LEOMA-Buchhaltung Augsburg accounting company. The nib is imprinted with LEOMA 585 14 KARAT. LEOMA-Buchhaltung Augsburg was a competitor of the companies Taylorix and RUF-Buchhaltung, who also works in the field of corporate accounting.
Manufactured IBIS pens with the name Rappen for export. E.g. in the Netherlands the pens must not named IBIS for trademark reasons.
