With the models MC120 for the American market and MC110 for the European market Pelikan for the first time produced piston filling pens equipped with special nibs for calligraphy. In 1989 a cartridge filler was released as the new model Script. These pens were equipped with broad calligraphy nibs in stainless steel in different widths, most usually 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm. An extended barrel provides an optimum balance of the pen.
Barrel and cap of these pens are always in black. A colored ring behind the grip section and a colored clip distinguished pens with different nib widths. The first models showed on the barrel only the words 'Pelikan Script' or no label. The later models in the colors blue, pink, turquoise and violet showed partially in addition the nib width.
